Lirong's 25th!

Lirong's birthday lasted a total of 29 hours, starting with a quiet dinner with Yongseok, Mel and I on Saturday evening. We headed to Seoul to have dinner at VIPS! Yongseok being thoughtful as usual, turned up with a cake, a present, and a party hat specially for the birthday girl! Lirong was made to wear it the whole time, even when she went to the salad bar hohoho.

We got home that night when the clock struck 12, and so with a hug, we ushered in Lirong's birthday! Mel and I wanted to give her the present in special way, so we decided to pretend that she got a parcel from Singapore! We got a box, put in the present, and proceeded to tape it up. But, we had no tape! So Mel had to go back to her room and borrow tape from Lirong. The worse thing is, Lirong borrowed the tape from the post office so it had "Korea Mail" printed all over it. But we figured that Lirong would probably be too blur to realise. Haha so after preparing the props we headed down to the letterbox and deposited it inside. Then we decided to get Nicole to go into Lirong's room and said that she saw a parcel in their letterbox. That girl, she deserves a best actress award I tell you. She went into Lirong's room and whined about her roommate sleeping so she had no one to talk to about design, and then proceeded to rattle on and on about design before telling Lirong about the parcel. All the time, Nicole's roommate, Yuting, was acting too! She had the most important role which was to act that she was asleep! hahaha. At the same time, yours truly the camera woman and my roomie were waiting patiently in our room until they came over to ask us to go down and "check out the parcel together" haha. So off we went, trying our very best to pull off a very ridiculous story, hoping that Lirong won't realise the many loopholes haha. But sadly, when she saw the parcel, she went "HAHAHA WHAT ARE YOU GIRLS DOING?? SINGAPORE POST BOX WITH KOREA MAIL TAPE?" hahahah! Okay, so our surprise failed. Actually there were too many loopholes la, because firstly, why would the postman come at 12midnight to deliver a parcel? Plus the tape was really too obvious. Haha but think it was a fun surprise and we all had a good laugh. We then headed to Nicole's room and guess what? Yuting was still engrossed in her sleeping role hahahahaha! Gosh it was so hilarious. So the birthday girl proceeded to open her present, which was a really pretty watch that looked soooo nice on her.

On Sunday which was the actual day of Lirong's birthday, many of us had studio, including the birthday girl. Urgh it was excruciating because studio dragged all the way until 12! Prior to that we had plans to go for a drink and then head to the norebang (korean karaokae) to have some fun but sadly it didn't materialise. In the end we decided to celebrate in studio and ordered beer and chicken delivery! Poor Lirong had to down a birthday drink, because it was a Korean tradition. Basically it was a concoction of various ingredients added by the people present. This particular one had cake, chilli, mustard sauce, coke, beer, chicken, radish, salt, pepper etc. Me being evil as usual added cake and had the honour of stirring the mixture. Hee-won added some super disgustingly bitter medicine, which he said was for old women hahahah! Thankfully birthdays are only once a year! Richard asked me when is my birthday and I said " I have no birthday!" hahaha thankfully my birthday is not spent in Korea if not I'd die a very horrible death hahha.

Ah so all in all it was really fun. I think I speak for everyone when I say I had a really good time. But most importantly, I hoped the birthday girl had loads of fun, and I really hope what we did made her feel really special. Happy 25th Birthday Lirong!
